Instructor of Physical Education (1971) by the School of Physical Education of Lisbon; Has a Bachelor in Physical Education (1975) by the National Institute of Physical Education, was a professor at the Higher Institute of Physical Education (1976 to 1984) and currently is a full professor and a lecturer (since 1985)  at the Faculty of Human Kinetics (FMH) of the University of Lisbon (UL). Is currently an active member of the General Council of the University of Lisbon (since 2015). Was the president of the FMH (January 2010 to July 2014), and is currently a member of the Department of Sports and Health and was an efective member of School’s Council of FMH (July 2014 - February of 2015). Is a member of the Laboratory of Motor Behavior of FMH.
